English-only fictional example

A copy you keep.

You can download your records and documents from Trust Relay. Once saved, those files can be opened without signing in, even if you later stop using the service.

This sample belongs to the same fictional Elena Morgan, Maria, and David shown in our recipient example. No customer information is used, and you don’t need an account to open it.

On a phone, start with the report below. To inspect the ZIP, download it and open it in your device’s file manager.

Inside the ZIP.

report.html
The readable summary shown below. After extracting the ZIP, open this file in a web browser. It needs no internet connection or Trust Relay sign-in.
records.json
The full records as structured data, including full account references. It contains more detail than the readable report.
documents/
The uploaded files, grouped by person. This sample contains one fictional home-paper checklist PDF for Maria.
manifest.json
A file list with sizes, SHA-256 fingerprints, and a completion status. If a document could not be included in a member’s backup, it is listed as failed.
README.txt
Instructions for opening and keeping the files.

This is the owner’s backup across all their people, not a recipient’s delivery. Don’t give your complete backup to one person unless you intend them to see everything in it. See the separate recipient example.

Read the sample report.

The content and section order use the same report generator as member exports. This example includes guidance, messages, and a timed note, with account references shortened. The downloaded report uses its own simple offline styling.

English-only fictional sample. These are made-up records, not a customer backup. The report wording below is the wording used in member exports.

Prepared by you from your Trust Relay account. It is a copy: it does not send check-ins or deliver anything, and changes you make later are not in it.

Keep your own copy.

In your website account, open Settings → Export & backup. A recent sign-in is required; if yours is too old, you’ll be asked to confirm it is you before the records are fetched. The ZIP is assembled in your browser. It is not emailed.

Download and check your copy before your account and records are deleted. Extract the ZIP, open the report and documents, and check that the manifest says the backup is complete. Keep the files somewhere private that you control.

A downloaded backup does not update itself, run check-ins, or deliver messages or timed notes. Download a fresh copy after changing your records. Leaving the service does not remove a copy you have already saved.

The backup excludes passwords, sign-in sessions, authenticator secrets, private delivery links and codes, and Trust Relay’s security and review records. A structured data file is not a promise of one-click import into another service.
